Our Story
Guoli Yang studied ceramics in Jingdezhen before opening a small studio. Her decorative plates and vases were featured in Shanghai design shows, but the price point put them out of reach for most people. MONIKO was her way of bringing that artistry to everyone.
Every MONIKO piece is hand-finished — the decorative plates have hand-painted patterns, the vases are matte-glazed in soft neutral tones. The name is a shortened version of "monumento" — a small tribute to beauty in everyday objects.
We believe that a vase doesn't need to hold expensive flowers. Put in some dried pampas grass, a few branches from the garden, or nothing at all. The object itself is enough.
